Derek J. Reid

Derek has extensive trial experience having worked for 14 years representing indigent persons at every stage of the criminal process. Derek also works on Appeals and is an experienced trial attorney, with over 50 trials to verdict in his career. In his time in the public sector, he represented individuals accused of everything from Driving Under the Influence, White Collar Crimes, up to Aggravated Murder. Derek is licensed to practice in Washington State and Federal Court.

Derek’s wide-ranging experience includes successfully litigating criminal and civil motions, criminal and civil trials, research and writing for appellate cases Washington State Court of Appeals. Derek has attended the National Criminal Defense College, as well as the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Forensics College in 2016 and 2017. These trainings and experience have provided Derek with a foundation of knowledge and has litigated in the areas of Cell Phone Extraction and Analysis, DNA evidence, Impression evidence (Shoes, Tools, Tires). Derek has presented at seminars in a variety of areas in criminal law.
